The Association of Asian Alumni creates and sustains connections among alumni and students at the University of Florida. We provide resources and networks for community building, learning, and support. Our mission is to: 
  • Serve all Gators, including the broader Asian American community.
  • Support students in their professional, leadership, financial, academic, social, and cultural development in collaboration with the Asian American Student Union and the UF Asian Faculty & Staff Association.

Strategic Goals

History

The Association of Asian Alumni (AAA) at the University of Florida was established in 2010 by student leaders of the Asian American Student Union. Soon after officially becoming part of the UF Alumni Association as an affiliate group, the first executive board was selected.

2009 - Student leaders lobbied for an Association of Asian Alumni

2010 - The Association of Asian Alumni was officially recognized and established through the UF Alumni Association

2010 - First Alumni Luncheon hosted in Gainesville

2011 - First executive board selected

2011 - Second Alumni Luncheon hosted in Gainesville

2013 - Local Happy Hour gatherings hosted in Orlando and South Florida

2014 - Second executive board selected

2015 - First Alumni Reunion held in Gainesville

2016 - Second Alumni Reunion held in conjunction with the Reitz Union Grand Re-Opening

2017 - Third executive board selected

2018 - Regional gatherings held in Tampa, Miami, Atlanta, Washington D.C., New York, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Jacksonville, and Dallas

2019 - Third Alumni Spring Reunion held in Gainesville

2019 - Fall Football Tailgate held in Gainesville

2020 - Podcast Series Launched

2021 - Virtual Alumni Student Dinner Held

2022 - UF’s Vietnamese Student Organization (VSO) established a scholarship fund in memory of Cô Lien

2023 - First Welcome to the Gatorhood Event hosted

2024 - Inaugural AASU x AAA alumni panel held on campus
